It is essential that all first aiders have annual refresher training in order to maintain and improve their skills. Remembering these skills is essential - therefore regular training, practice and support must be implemented to remain up to date on any changes to standard practices.
What is the course about:
This course is designed to refresh participants first aid skills and knowledge, as well as update individuals on any changes that may have occurred since the participant first qualified.
Practice and refreshing these skills cuts down the time it takes to treat a patient. Being familiar with skills allows the first aider to concentrate on managing the wider scene.
Course Duration:
This is a -- hour/day course led by a trainer/assessor that involves learning in the form of both theoretical and practical learning and demonstration.
Prerequisites:
Participants must have already completed their First Aid qualification in order to attend the annual updates course.

Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.

Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious.

Administer first aid to a casualty in seizure.

Administer CPR

Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.

Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
