This course provides essential training for individuals seeking to be able to provide emergency first aid to someone who is injured in the work environment. If an incident were to happen in the workplace, it is important that employees know they can receive assistance from someone they trust whilst waiting for professional help to arrive.


What is the course about:


The aim of the course is to train participants in having the understanding and confidence to manage an emergency situation and deal with a variety of illnesses and injuries - all of which may occur in the work place. Learning is theoretical, practical and situational, to combine theory with the presentation of hypothetical real life scenarios.


The Qualification:

Assessment is in the form of a combination of practical and theoretical demonstration by the individual. If successfully completed certification is then given.




  • Role and responsibility of a First Aider

  • Assessing an incident

  • Conducting surveys

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally

  • Recognising and assisting a casualty who is choking
